Development of mountain regions

Residents, water, access to services, safety, local cooperation and education in a single programme for a settlement and its watershed.

The first step is a territory profile, residents’ participation and a small pilot project with three agreed modules.

A place to live

The mountain programme is part of Rus of the Future as initiative RB-09. The planning unit is the watershed and its associated settlements, services and access routes. Natural constraints, residents’ needs and ongoing maintenance are considered together.

The specific site has not yet been selected. The program proposes to first survey the territory, agree on tasks with local participants and determine a measurable result.

Ten modules of one program

These are the possible components of a pilot project. Modules are selected according to the task and local conditions.

How to prepare the first pilot project

  1. Describe the area, residents' needs, watershed, available services and restrictions.
  2. Agree on the site, participants and three modules. The working concept identifies the territory profile, water and mountain school as priorities for the initial discussion.
  3. Complete the pilot project profile: responsible people, resources, baseline data, expected result and verification method.
  4. After agreement, carry out the work, compare the result with the initial conditions and decide whether to continue.

Concept and pilot project profile

The profile is a form to complete. Publication does not mean that the pilot project has already started.
